Andrea Rodgers
For our season finale, we have Andrea Rogers, a Senior Litigation Attorney at Our Children’s Trust. For over a decade, Andrea has been successfully litigating in the climate space and serves as co-counsel in Juliana v. United States, Held v. State of Montana, and Navahine F. v. Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation, and supports a number of other youth-led cases. In light of the most recent win in Held v. State of Montana, where the judge ruled that the state’s failure to consider climate change when approving fossil fuel projects was unconstitutional, we wanted an inside scoop about all ongoing youth-led climate cases. In this episode, Ashley and Andrea discuss the role of legal precedent in case law, the landscape of current legal challenges, how this work found her, the wins we can celebrate, what inspires her, why a judicial strategy is required to make political change happen, a picture of the world if these cases continue to win, and more. This is a great episode for anyone curious about how we can use litigation as a tool to both address the climate crisis and give young people a voice in the face of a political system that can often create a feeling of powerlessness.

Anywhere. Shiva just lies, lies and lies some more about seeds with the hateful activist memes she makes up. *The Germination of Outrage: How Vandana Shiva Fabricates Conspiracy Theories* Posted by RISKMONGER [a degreed biotech expert] on FEBRUARY 27, 2020 "Vandana Shiva has made a lucrative business out of spreading conspiracy theories about agricultural technologies, sustainable farming, capitalism and industry. Her popularity has grown as she positions herself as a modern-day Gandhi, a social justice warrior, an ecological feminist and an agroecologist. The problem is that most everything that comes out of her much amplified mouth is complete nonsense: pure fabrications easily and often refuted. Which leads to the question: How does Vandana consistently get away with such ridiculous falsehoods and oral assaults on intelligent thought? How can she weave the absurd into a web of allegations willingly consumed by her followers? How does she relentlessly fabricate conspiracy theories and package them for consumption among the Western liberal elite? This article will look at one web of lies she is presently spinning as an analysis of the germination of outrage. Gone Vananas! As Vandana points her finger at Western economic models and institutions, she has profited quite well from lucrative speaking fees and first-class luxury living. She uses the free speech made available to her on university campuses to condemn farmers for freely choosing the seeds they want to grow. As Vandana attacks industry for their lack of openness, she will never engage in open debate with an adversary. As long as Vandana controls the microphone, she can say what she wants, repeating it to her followers and making the outrageous a marketable outrage. Some of the claims she has repeatedly made, which would have destroyed the credibility of any mere mortal, include: *Shiva: Indian farmers are killing themselves in much larger numbers after being exposed to pesticides and GMOs. Fact: Indian farmer suicide rates are lower than the national average. *Shiva: 75% of all diseases are caused by a “Poison Cartel” of three chemical companies. Fact: This is too absurd to consider. We are living longer and healthier lives. *Shiva: The Green Revolution in the 1960s destroyed India’s way of life. Fact: Until the Green Revolution, India was plagued with famines and chronic malnutrition. This is not a story about how wrong Vandana Shiva is, how she hypocritically profits from her lies or how dangerous she is to global food security. There is enough critical information out there. This is a story about how Vandana’s lies germinate into conspiracy theories packaged for outrage consumption. With Shiva, the truth doesn’t matter. She simply ignores any fact-checking, corrections and personal criticisms. Her adoring audience wants to hear what Shiva has to say, without a care for whether it is true or not. Like Donald Trump, Shiva has a Teflon charisma that appeals specifically to her base and allows her to take them down a road of rage, righteousness and rhetoric. Facts don’t matter when zealots fabricate outrage." Full coverage at: risk-monger.com/2020/02/27/the-germination-of-outrage/

if you guys want to stop CAFOs you need to work with ethical unbiased doctors who can explain in unbiased way why cows of the past on pastures and grass were healthier and helpful to human society. Human society will not simply see compassion alone. You have got to be a saint to be like that 100%. But when they see why shifting to alternative good path of producing food is good for them, they will fight with you. But this comes from a collective effort of knowledgeable and ethical people. If a person eats meat not bought from industry and is health conscious not eating processed junk, they do not need as much as US probably wastes in making beef jerky and processed crap. There is a lot more that needs to go into educating people in general. Kids are more interested in visiting chocolate factories than playing with soil or cooking in kitchen real food. There is so much education that needs to happen. People are overeating and this is why they are unhealthy because you only overeat wrong things. And that puts stresses on animals, plants, and soil.

But if we think deeply indirectly we are living a patented life controlled by others. There is no harm in ownership in case of when you genuinely take care of some being then there is a give and take relationship established whether in family or parents who give their genes to their child or elder siblings taking care of their younger siblings or humans who genuinely take care of their domestic animals and benefit from them in return. Question arises only where is the line drawn that differentiates that sense of ownership in a mutual beneficial caring relationship and dictatorial control.

The only way to transition from being consumer to mutually benefitting our community is to start producing. Starting small and supporting the small farmers and ranchers and also the other way is abandoning certain things. We can not abandon what our bodies would need despite what all alternatives, what we can abandon is what we did not historically or ancestrally eat in the past which is industrialized processed foods. I wish we could see community of different diets come together on one platform to acknowledge that one thing and the world will change instantly. However, there is less stress on whole food as much as there is propaganda of this or that food being bad which is not true. We can not let some big people govern our food choices by selling us fake and processed alternatives either in replacement of CAFO meat. BOTH MUST GO! There is only one replacement which our body is naturally designed for and it is eating clean whole foods from clean sources. This is the biggest challenge today because even plants are not clean, they are heavily sprayed with pesticides too. This makes me believe life must respect life. Plant is a life too. We spray harsh chemicals and we expect it to nurture us. We treat animals wrong by confining them in concentrated feedlots and we expect them to nurture us. I highly respect those who have started keeping their own backyard chickens for those who eat chicken. But yes, right education is the key especially to kids because they create the future but it must come from right and unbiased sources that are focused on truth and real solutions not fake solutions.
